Antiquity

You will each choose a faction. You will start with one settlement and one army. The goal is to lead your army to conquer other settlements, earn more tribute, raise more armies, and create a much larger Empire than you started with. Along the way you will diplomatically engage other empires, whether you become their enemy of ally is up to you. You may also face other events inflicted by myself, the game master, and must handle them politically; that can include rebellions, natural disasters, family tragedies, and more.

Game Play
1. You begin with 1 settlement and 1 army, which is 5,000 soldiers. For every new settlement you conquer you can support up to 1,000 more troops. Every army must have a name or I need to know the general in charge so we can keep track of them. Secondly, I need to know what kind of troops are in them. Third, those troops must be historically accurate for the faction you command. Numbers do NOT win battles, troop make-up does.
2. Every settlement under your command will give you tribute every year (and every year counts as one turn). This tribute can be used to recruit soldiers. Tribute can also be gained by establishing trade rights with other empires. But tribute can also be used amongst the players to pay them, buy territory from them, and even sell them whole armies - it's up to you.
3. I will cause internal strife, natural disasters, tragedies, etc amongst you and everyone else. Don't think I am singling you out, cause I will do it to everyone equally. But the significance and effect of these events will be determined by a number of factors, such as negligent defense, covert operations by other empires, unhappiness, etc.

Rules
1. Armies may only march from one region to another region within one turn, and they must be adjacent.
2. All battles are determined by me, and I will use location and soldier make-up to determine who wins.
3. If I make a bad call, tell me. If I get overruled, I will change results.
